NW Wedding Scoop…a different type of wedding show

Blush will be participating in the NW Wedding Scoop, a unique wedding workshop (not tradeshow) designed to educate brides on how to best use the budget they have to hire professional vendors and create the wedding of their dreams.  There will be two shows, one on Saturday, February 20th at the Salem Conference Center, and the other on Saturday, February 27th at the Portland City Center Courtyard Marriott…this is the show we’ll be at.  For details and to pre-register online and save on ticket prices, check out www.nwweddingscoop.com.  There will be a number of professional wedding vendors on hand to offer guidance and expertise on various panels including but not limited to catering, photography, videography, music, etc.  Come for an hour or the entire day, it’s completely up to you! Blush hearts Style Me Pretty

Blush is honored to be one of just two wedding planners in Oregon selected to be showcased in Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book:  The Best Wedding Vendors.  If you haven’t yet checked out their website it is one of the most gorgeous we’ve seen!  There are plenty of photos from fabulous real weddings throughout the country, articles and tips for planning the perfect day, and the many resources you need to ensure your wedding is everything you imagine!  Abby Larson, the talented Editor and Founder of SMP, recently posted a few photos of some very pretty Valentine’s Day treats on the Little Black Book blog.  It’s definitely a post after our own Blush hearts…complete with delectable pink frosted cupcakes, pastel candies and the oh-so-sweet French macaroons, much like the irresistible cookie-cake combination available at Pix Patisserie right here in Portland.  There is just one word to describe them: divine!  We were lucky enough to coordinate a wedding this past September where the bride purchased 200 of them as favors for her guests and they are just scrumptious…an absolute must try!  My personal favorite: Fleur de sel (a.k.a. sea salt caramel), chocolate cinnamon, and cheesecake…Ooh la la!  These tasty treats are sure to add enjoyment to any party or reception and the ultimate favor for any guest!  This is just one of many unique ideas that can be found on Style Me Pretty’s website. We suggest you take a moment, which will likely turn into an hour or two (or three!) and browse this wonderful site  You might just become as obsessed as we are.  Good thing it’s almost a holiday weekend. Meet the fabulous Anne Nunn Photographers & Enter to win $500 off any photography package!

In the brief time I’ve known Anne, owner of Anne Nunn Photographers and photographer extraordinaire, I’ve come to realize she is a not only remarkable behind the camera, but also a genuinely kind woman with a  real passion for family, photography and life.  She is someone who appreciates what life presents her with and makes the most of it, good or bad…this is quite an attribute and I can’t wait to get to know her better!  Anne’s business is based out of Eugene and while the majority of her clients are in this area, she is always eager to work in new places. Thankfully we met as a result of two incredibly sweet mutual clients (featured in these first few photos) who are getting married this June at the beautiful and rustic Paradise Springs Lodge in Monroe, Oregon, a small town located halfway between Corvallis and Eugene.  Both Anne and I thoroughly enjoy working at new venues so we’re really excited for Alex & Daniel’s big day…just 4.5 short months to go and Alex is going to be one gorgeous bride!

Anne had the opportunity to photograph Alex & Daniel’s engagement session this afternoon and despite the drizzle and gloom they had a blast and she was able to capture some great shots!  These two are so photogenic and will be such fun to work with on their wedding!  Native to Corvallis, Alex & Daniel moved to Burbank, CA three years ago for school.  The moment I learned where they lived we had an instant connection since I was born in Burbank myself but moved away at a very young age.  These two are relaxed, hip, stylish and sweet…the perfect combo for a memorable wedding! 

Now onto the contest!  Anne Nunn Photographers is looking for the most touching, inspirational love story for a couple to win $500.00 off any wedding photography package!  Here is what the winning couple will receive: – $500.00 off any wedding photography package – all of their wedding packages include an engagement session, two photographers, DVD of edited images with copyright release, and a custom wedding website. 

Contest rules:  The story must be inspirational and/or about a couple who have overcome great odds, and the wedding must be in 2010 with the venue already booked.
